Lois Chan’s appointment comes amid robust fundraising in Asia with more launches planned.

Eaton Partners has hired former Asia private equity fund of funds professional Lois Chan for its Hong Kong office, Private Equity International has learned. Chan will join a team of five as a senior associate who will report to Chris Lerner, partner and Eaton’s head of Asia.

Chan will focus on Asia fund origination and related capital-raising matters. Prior to joining Eaton, she served as head of sales and business development at Foodpanda Hong Kong, a portfolio company of venture capital firm Rocket Internet.

Before Foodpanda, Chan was an investment associate at Asia fund of funds Emerald Hill Capital Partners, where she helped perform screening and due diligence on funds. Lerner, who is based in Shanghai, oversees the firm’s fund origination, distribution and execution activities in Asia, where the firm has raised a number of funds in 2015, including: the $450 million CDIB Capital Asia Partners; the $185 million C-Bridge China Healthcare Fund; and the $1.8 billion Asia Alternatives Capital Partners IV fund. In total, Eaton Partners has raised five funds across Asia this year, totalling more than $3.5 billion.

In April, Eaton promoted Jackson Chan to managing director from senior vice-president after the former Hamilton Lane Asia business development professional joined Eaton in 2014. While at Hamilton Lane, Chan served as a vice-president in charge of business development.

Eaton Partners opened its Hong Kong office in 2011.
